The first to join the force, she proudly patrols her own childhood neighborhood in Queens.
Former Fear the Walking Dead star Mercedes Mason has booked a series-regular role in ABC’s straight-to-series light crime drama THE ROOKIE. The series stars Nathan Fillion as John Nolan, the oldest rookie in the LAPD. Mason will play Capt. Zoe Andersen, Nolan’s confident and irreverent commanding officer.
Designated Survivor‘s Breckin Meyer and Once Upon a Time‘s Merrin Dungey are set to star in the drama pilot THE FIX. The series is being described as part legal thriller, part confessional and part revenge fantasy. Meyer will play Charlie Wiest, a spineless opportunist who doesn’t have enough power within the office to control its inner workings, despite his grave efforts. Dungey will play CJ, a DA Investigator who was one of Maya’s closest friends and confidants during the high-profile trial.
Dexter alumna Luna Lauren Velex and Pulse‘s Pallavi Sharda have booked series regular roles in CBS’s drama pilot MURDER. Shot like a true-crime documentary the drama explores crime through the unique and often-conflicting perspectives of cops and killers, witnesses and victims, friends and family. Velez will play Capt. Lili Alvarez, a trailblazing leader for women in the NYPD, she is a strong and supportive squad boss. She always protects the detectives under her command. Sharda will portray Dr. Parvati Agrawal. A meticulous forensic pathologist, she sees herself as the final doctor for each homicide victim.
Aussie Actor Felix Mallard (Neighbors) has been tapped for the lead role in CBS’ multi-camera comedy pilot. the untitled comedy revolves around Peter (Damon Wayans) and Claire, a thirtysomething couple who are tired of their mundane life and start to reconnect with their younger, cooler selves when an emerging pop star (Mallard), who is drawn to their super-normal suburban life, moves in. Mallard’s Cooper is a sweet, charming small-town kid-turned-music superstar. He is a very positive guy who sees the good in everyone and everything, as well as being effortlessly cool and youthfully naïve.
You’re the Worst‘s Brandon Mychal Smith has been cast as the male lead in NBC’s comedy pilot LIKE FAMILY. The series centers on Aubrey and Artie (Smith) who formed the tightest of sibling-like bonds growing up together in foster care but are discovering that such closeness makes adulthood even more complicated. Artie seems tough, but it’s all surface. His soft spot is Aubrey and he is very protective of his “sister.” Unlike Aubrey, he’s cautious about taking risks in life or in love.
The Secret Life of the American Teenager alum Daren Kagasoff has booked a series regular role in NBC drama pilot THE VILLAGE. The series follows the residents of a Manhattan apartment building that find that the more their lives intertwine, the more complex and compelling their connections become, thus proving life’s challenges are better faced alongside family, even if it’s the one you make wherever you find it. Kagasoff will play Gabe Deluca, Enzo’s son, and sort-of caretaker.
Desperate Housewives alum Mark Moses is set as a series regular role in Fox’s Fbi drama pilot. The untitled drama centers on FBI Special Agent Hazel Otis ( Katie Holmes), who’s in the midst of investigating a domestic terrorism threat when an affair with a prominent general shatters her life and threatens her career at the FBI. Moses will play Chase, the FBI assistant Director, and Hazel’s boss.
Parenthood alum Joy Bryant is joining the upcoming fourth season of HBO’s BALLERS in a recurring role. Bryant will play a successful public defender who is a single mom to a hotshot rising football star in high school.
Former Feed the Beast star Lorenza Izzo is set for a recurring role on the fourth and final season of Hulu’s CASUAL. Izzo will play Tathiana, a friend that Laura (Tara Lynne Barr) met traveling.
