Science fiction drama THE CROSSING has added Jay Karnes, Simon Kessell, and Grant Harvey to the cast. It revolves around refugees from a war-torn country who start showing up to seek asylum in an American town. But the country these people are from is America, and the war they are fleeing is 250 years in the future. Karnes has been cast as Craig Lindauer, a sharp and aggressive DHS Under Secretary skeptical of the refugees’ claims. Kessell will play Rebecca, one of the few survivors to wash up on shore amongst the hundreds of bodies that appear one morning. Harvey has been cast as Roy, a boyish, by-the-book agent charged with helping look after the refugees.
QUANTICO has booked Krysta Rodriguez for a recurring role for the second half of the season. She will play Maxine “Max” Griffin, the intelligent, passionate, and fiercely driven founder of “the Roster,” a network and visibility platform for professional women committed to helping one another rise. A DC insider who wants to change the way politics treats women, Max is not to be messed with – in her personal or professional life.

Mistresses actor Rochelle Aytes has landed a lead role in DOOMSDAY. The series stars in the aftermath of 9/11, when the U.S. government institutes a secret think tank featuring the most creative minds in science and entertainment that is tasked with dreaming up man-made disaster scenarios and their possible solutions. Because the hypothetical ideas are deemed extremely dangerous, the list is sealed and the program shut down. But when a catastrophe occurs that’s ripped from the pages of the missing doomsday book the team is brought back years later to prevent the disasters of their own making. Aytes has been cast as Dr. Elle, a renowned physicist, MD, and author who is also is a member of the former.
Drama pilot SALAMANDER has tapped Elaine Tan for a series regular role opposite John Leguizamo, Allison Miller, and Neil Sandilands. The project centers on Ethan, a brilliant but misanthropic engineer who recruits a skeptical Homeland Security psychiatrist, Nora to help him track a mysterious bank robber whose theft of 66 specific safety deposit boxes, belonging to the elite and powerful, sets in motion a series of blackmails that might be linked to greater conspiracy. Tan has been cast as Meghan, the master thief and anarchist who works alongside the domestic terrorist Jack Wang.
MISSION CONTROL has tapped Grimm star David Giuntoli for the male lead role. The project revolves around the next generation of NASA astronauts and scientists who juggle their personal and professional lives during a critical mission with no margin for error. Giuntoli will play Julie, the flight director for the Durga Mission.
Straight-to-series drama TOM CLANCY’S JACK RYAN has netted John Hoogenakker in a recurring role. The show is a reinvention with a modern sensibility of the famed and lauded Tom Clancy hero, played by John Krasinski. Ryan is an up-and-coming CIA analyst thrust into a dangerous field assignment for the first time. He uncovers a a pattern in terrorist communications taht launches him into the center of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale. Hoogenakker has been cast as Matice, a tough and salty American who works black ops for the CIA.

HBO’s flagship series GAME OF THRONES has booked musician Ed Sheeran guest-starring role in season seven. The announcement came over the weekend during SXSW from creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. Details on the role are being kept under wraps.

Elizabeth Perkins and Madison Davenport have netted roles opposite Amy Adams and Patricia Clarkson in SHARP OBJECTS. The series is based on the book by Gillian Flynn and centers on reporter Camille Preaker. Fresh from a brief stay at a psychiatric hospital, Camille must return to her tiny hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. Trying to put together a psychological puzzle from her past, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims a bit too closely. Perkins as has been cast as Jackie, the local gossip and renowned alcoholic – trashy, fun, big hair, and bi makeup. Davenport has been cast as Meredith, a confident and sexy former high school cheerleader who strongly supports her boyfriend, who is a prime suspect in the murder of his younger sister.
Jeff Daniels is set to topline the 9/11 drama LOOMING TOWER. The series is based on Lawrence Wright’s Pulitzer Prize-winning book and tracks the rising threat of Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda and examines how the rivalry between CIA and FBI may have inadvertently set the stage for September 11, and the subsequent war in Iraq. Daniels will play John O’Neill, the determined, bull-headed chief of the New York FBI’s Counter Terrorism unit.

Antonio Magro has boarded psychological thriller THE ALIENIST in a recurring role. The show is based on the best-selling novel by Caleb Carr and is set during the Gilded Age of New York City in 1896, when a series of haunting, gruesome murders of boy prostitutes grips the city. Magro has been cast as Paul Kelly, a well-spoken “gentlemen mob boss,” and founder of the notorious Five Points Gang.
