The Goldbergs spinoff has booked Nia Long to star. The half-hour is set in the 1990s and follows two high school teachers who become unlikely father figures to the kids at their Philadelphia school, the same school Adam Goldberg graduated from. Long has been cast as Lucy Winston, a single mother of three and “legit cool”.

Community alum Yvette Nicole Brown has been tapped to star opposite Brandon Michael Hall and Lea Michele in the untitled City Mayor comedy. It centers on Courtney Rose, a struggling hip-hop artist who runs for mayor to promote his mixtape – and wins. Brown has been cast as Dina, Courtney’s chatty, drama-prone, single mom who had him when she was a teenager – but she’s also his best friend and biggest cheerleader.

THE TRUSTEE had netted David Warshofsky a series regular role opposite Meaghan Rath and Laverne Cox. The dramedy is described as a fun, female buddy cop comedy about Eliza Radley, a driven but stubborn detective who finds unlikely help from her precinct’s trustee, Amanda Jones a larger-than-life ex-con finishing out her prison sentence doing menial tasks for the police department. Warshofsky has been cast as Anthony Radley, a tough retired cop who retreats into the bottle on the anniversary of his police officer son’s death.

One Life to Live alum Kelley Missal has joined Steve Zahn and Sandrine Holt for THE CROSSING. The project revolves around refugees from a war-torn country who start showing up to seek asylum in an American town. But the country these people are from is America, and the war they are fleeing is 250 years in the future. Missal has been cast as Hannah, one of the first survivors to make it to the shore.

Sam Huntington has landed a series regular role in LOSING IT. It is about three misfit adult siblings and their parents who – between divorce, new parenthood, early-onset memory loss and let’s just say life – are all losing it in different ways. And family is the only way they’re going to find it. Huntington has been cast as Owen, Andy’s handsome, charming, and single younger brother, a successful birthday party magician without a care in the world.

Parenthood alum Monica Potter has boarded WISDOM OF THE CROWD starring Jeremy Piven. The hour-long is based on the Israeli format and is inspired by the notion that a million minds are better than one. It centers on Piven as Jeffrey Tanner, a charismatic tech innovator who creates a cutting-edge crowd-sourcing hub to solve his own daughter’s murder, as well as revolutionizing crime-solving in San Francisco. Potter has been cast as Alex, Tanner’s ex-wife who has been making waves in politics, being careful not to let her connection to Tanner impact her career.

Rita Wilson has left the untitled university drama pilot and has been replaced by Emmy winner Christine Lahti. The drama tackles campus sexual assault and centers on Austin Stowell on Matt Kellerman, the Junior Counsel of prestigious Illinois university who must deal with an out-of-control scandal when a female student accuses several star football players of sexual assault. He gets to work with Jourdan Price, a crisis-management consultant brought in to help with the scandal. From the football coaches and boosters who wield outsize influence, to a university administration under siege, the series explores the high-profile controversy as well as the corrosive, dangerous nature of institutional power. Lahti has been cast as Constance Hawthorne, the dignified but fierce head of EPU Board of Trustees.

Liz Meriwether’s THIN ICE has tapped Saturday Night Live alum Jane Curtin for a series regular role. It centers on a woman who reclaims her dreams when she finds herself at the end of the Earth – Antarctica – surrounded by a brilliant group of misfits. Curtin has been cast as Mrs. Brooks, a recent widow excited to finally be in Antarctica and a part of the research team.

Revenge star Emily VanCamp is set to topline THE RESIDENT. The drama centers on an idealistic young doctor, Conrad, who begins his first day under the supervision of a tough, but brilliant senior resident, who pulls the curtain back on all the good and evil in modern day medicine. Lives may be saved or lost, but expectations will always be shattered. VanCamp has been cast as Nicolette, the nurse who is Conrad’s on-again/off-again romantic fling.

BEHIND ENEMY LINES pilot has added Willa Fitzgerald and Dylan Bruno. The military soap thriller follows a group of U.S. soldiers find themselves trapped behind enemy lines. It’s described as a multiple-perspective narrative that closely follows our soldiers on the ground and the officers and service men and women on a nearby aircraft carrier, along with intelligence officers in D.C. as they attempt to bring our heroes home safely and under the radar. Fitzgerald has been cast as Roxanne Daly, a Navy pilot stationed on the USS Tyson, and Ziggy’s ex-girlfriend. Bruno has been cast as Scott Byrne, the cautious, but firm Commander of the Air Group, who has a lot of pilots under his command.

Original series TOM CLANCY’S JACK RYAN has tapped Timothy Hutton for a recurring role. The project stars John Krasinski as the title character, who uncovers a pattern in terrorist communication that launches him into the center of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale. Hutton has been cast as Singer, who serves as Deputy Director of Operations.
