Sci-fi comedy SPACED OUT has tapped Matt Shively for the lead role opposite Christine Woods. The project is a workplace comedy that centers on a working-class, genius, Peter Gibbons, and his struggles to fit in with an established team – all made more difficult when their job is building a rocket to Mars. Shively will star as Gibbons.

Robert Patrick is reteaming with his Terminator 2 producer Gale Anne Hurd on Amazon’s adaptation of the horror podcast LORE. The anthology series dives into the real life stories of the paranormal, the origins of vampires, zombies, and the horror genre. Patrick’s role is being kept under wraps.

BBC Two’s PEAKY BLINDERS has added Aidan Gillen and Charlie Murphy, and brought Charlotte Riley for season four. Riley returns as May Carleton, the champion horse trainer and former lover of Tommy Shelby, who was last seen in season two. Details on Gillen and Murphy’s roles are being kept under wraps.

Difficult People star Billy Eichner has boarded Ryan Murphy’s AMERICAN HORROR STORY. Little is known about the season but Murphy has said it is a “modern-day story” and will be somewhat based on on the 2016 presidential election. Eichner’s will play a close confidante of Sarah Paulson’s character and will mostly be wearing “mysterious tank tops.”

Andrea Londo has landed a series regular role in the Sons of Anarchy spinoff MAYANS MC. Set in the aftermath of Jax Teller’s death and focuses on the struggles of Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes, a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the California-Mexico border. Londo has been cast as Carnalita, a street-wise and driven young woman who protects the lost children orphaned by cartel violence.

The Wire alum Sonja Sohn and Jenn An have netted recurring roles on THE CHI. The drama is a coming-of-age story that follows a half dozen interrelated characters in the South Side of Chicago. Sohn has been cast as Laverne, Brandon’s unpredictable and dysfunctional alcoholic mother with whom he shares a very strained and resentful relationship. An has been cast as Sarah, who grew up in the restaurant business, albeit a down market family one, and now runs her husband Steve’s hip/urban diner (which her parents don’t approve of) in Chicago’s busy restaurant scene.
Family thriller NEXT OF KIN has booked The Good Wife‘s Archie Panjabi and Jack Davenport to star. The six-part series follows whip-smart GP Mona Shirani who lives in London with political lobbyist husband Guy Harcourt. Their family life is shattered when Mona’s brother is brutally murdered while working for a medical charity abroad. As the death brings buried secrets to light, Mona’s family finds itself under suspicion, each drawn deep into a tangle of betrayal and conspiracy as they try to protect their loved ones and careers. Mona finds herself facing the ultimate dilemma: how far would you go to keep your family safe? Panjabi has been cast as Shirani. Davenport has been cast as Harcourt.
