Actor-writer Biniam Bizuneh has been cast as the male lead in CULTURE CLASH, Fox’s single-camera comedy pilot. The series revolves around Abel (Bizuneh), a man from a bombastic African family that doesn’t have a word in their native language for “privacy,” and his fiancée Jenny (Beth Behrs), from a Midwestern family, as they try to build a normal life together — though nobody can agree what that “normal” means. Bizuneh’s Abel is a good natured and educated Ethiopian refugee who can be a smart mouth when pushed. His time spent in a refugee camp as a child before coming to America left him with a few rough edges.

The daughter of two professors, Sydney is a straight-A student and the first chair violinist in the school orchestra, but secretly has a bit of a wild side. McWilliams portrays Regina, Teddy’s fun-loving mom, who thinks her son takes himself way too seriously and would do anything to help him make friends.
