Bill Hader’s HBO pilot BARRY has cast Hindsight alum Sarah Goldberg to star opposite Hader. The comedy, co-written and to be directed by Hader, centers on an ex-Marine who works as a low-rent hitman in the Midwest. Lonely and dissatisfied in his life he begrudgingly travels to Los Angeles to kill someone and ends up finding an accepting community in a group of eager hopefuls within the L.A. theater scene. Goldberg will play Sally, an aspiring actress who is Barry’s entree into LA’s theater scene.
Written and to be directed by Ridley, Presence is described as a stylish update of the classic detective genre. The series follows Presence Foster, a former Army veteran who finds herself interacting with a widely divergent, and highly colorful cross-section of Los Angeles as she unintentionally begins a career as an unlicensed Private Investigator.
Sigman, whose credits include Spectre, Netflix’s Narcos, and FX’s The Bridge, can currently be seen in a recurring role on the second season of Ridley’s acclaimed ABC anthology series American Crime. She is repped by ICM Partners.
Emily Rios joins Fargo‘s Bokeem Woodbine in A&E’s pilot THE INFAMOUS. The drama, set against the events of turbulent 1990s L.A., revolves around an ambitious reformed gangster poised to break out of South Central (Woodbine) and the LAPD detective hell-bent on taking him down. Rios will play the female lead Alice Calderon, a tough, rookie LA police officer, who grew up in the streets of South Central, LA, in the neighborhood that she patrols. She has to balance the tough situation of policing a community she grew up in, and deal with the ramifications, and the attitudes and tactics of the police force she works for.
Barry Sloane has landed the lead role in History’s SIX. Edwin Hodge also joins the ensemble cast of the eight-episode military drama series. Written by William and David Broyles, the series follows Navy SEAL Team Six, whose 2014 mission to eliminate a Taliban leader in Afghanistan goes awry when they uncover a U.S. citizen working with the terrorists.
Sloane plays John “Bear” Graves, the recently appointed leader of SEAL Team Six. Hodge will play Robert Chase III, one of the SEALs-in-training. The pair join previously cast Dominic Adams and Juan Pablo Raba.
Sloane, repped by Innovative Artists and Silver Lining Entertainment, starred in ABC’s Revenge, the alphabet net’s shortlived The Whispers, and recurred on Netflix’s Longmire. Hodge, repped by Pakula/King & Associates and Priluck Company, has recurred on Chicago Fire and can next be seen in the second season of ABC’s Secrets and Lies.
Isabella Rossellini will co-star opposite Jeffrey Donovan and KaDee Strickland in Hulu’s SHUT EYE. The new drama series takes a darkly comedic look at the underground world of Los Angeles storefront psychics and the organized crime syndicate that runs them. Rossellini will play Rita, the beautiful and sadistic matriarch of the Romani clan.
DEVIOUS MAIDS has tapped Cristela alum Carlos Ponce for a juicy recurring role on the Lifetime dramedy’s upcoming fourth season. He will play Ben, a handsome and slick manager of a major movie star. He’s described as charming, mysterious, and an expert manipulator, fitting right in on the soapy series.
Ortiz, who has starred as Raquel Saldana on VH1’s Hit The Floor, will play Noelle, a renowned tattoo artists with whom Bay wants to work. She is repped by Abrams Artists, Sharyn Talent Management, and Sheila Crawford Management.
