Courteney Cox on Fox?
Courteney Cox might be back on network television next fall. She’s starring in a comedy series in development at Fox. Written by The Office writer-producer Robert Padnick, the as yet untitled single cam comedy centers on Hailey (Cox), a woman who inherits her late billionaire husband’s charity and quickly finds that changing the world is far less glamorous than she had imagined.
James Griffiths is set to direct if the project from ABC Studios is ordered to pilot by Fox. Cox, Padnick and Griffiths executive produce with Thea Mann. ABC Studios was also behind Cox’s Cougar Town, which ended its six-season run on ABC and TBS last spring.
Cox is repped by WME and Brillstein Entertainment.
Kristen Bell and Ted Danson are in a “Good Place”
House Of Lies star Kristen Bell and CSI: Cyber‘s Ted Danson are set to star in NBC’s GOOD PLACE. The comedy series from Parks & Recreation and Brooklyn Nine-Nine co-creator Mike Schur earned a 13-episode straight-to-series order last summer.
The series centers on Eleanor (Bell), a woman from New Jersey who comes to realize that she hasn’t been a very good person. Danson plays Michael, who becomes Eleanor’s guide through her self-designed self-improvement course.
Being able to continue on House Of Lies was a condition for Bell to sign on for Good Place, so if the Showtime series is renewed for a sixth season, Bell will be part of it. Meanwhile, Ted Danson’s series regular role on CBS’s CSI: Cyber does not seem to be a factor. The actor signed a one-year deal, and the show itself is on the bubble for a third season renewal.
Good Place is produced by Universal Television, where Schur is under an overall deal, 3 Arts and Fremulon. Schur executive produces with David Miner.
Bell is repped by CAA and Bailey Brand Management. Danson is repped by WME and Industry Entertainment.

Devious Maids is produced by ABC Studios. The series was created by Marc Cherry and is executive produced by Cherry, Sabrina Wind, Eva Longoria, Brian Tanen, Curtis Kheel, Larry Shuman, David Lonner, John Mass, and Televisa USA’s Paul Presburger and Michael Garcia.
Longoria is repped by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment. Denton is repped by Paradigm and John Crosby Management. Rodriguez is repped by Imperium 7 and Entertainment Lab. Owens is repped by TalentWorks and Mosaic.
