Starz’s adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s AMERICAN GODS has landed Ian McShane to star as Mr. Wednesday. He will star opposite The 100‘s Ricky Whittle. Bryan Fuller and Michael Green are writer/showrunners of the series. The series follows a war brewing between old and new deities: the traditional gods of mythological roots from around the world steadily losing believers to an upstart pantheon of gods reflecting society’s modern love of money, technology, media, celebrity, and drugs.
The show centers on McShane’s Mr. Wednesday, a crafty and endlessly charismatic con man, full of perverse wisdom, curious magic, and grand plans. He hires ex-con Shadow moon (Whittle) to be his bodyguard as he journeys across America, using his charms to recruit other like him as he prepares for the ultimate battle for power.
McShane previously starred in Starz The Pillars Of The Earth and will next be seen in HBO’s Game Of Thrones.

PROTOTYPE has tapped Smash and Pirates of the Carribbean‘s Jack Davenport to star as the aging playboy and former Silicon Valley wunderkind, Edward “Eddy” Conway, who has retreated from the tech world to return to UCLA as a physics professor. The series centers on three unlikely cohorts who inadvertently stumble upon an invention that challenges the very nature of quantum physics – a discovery which in turn puts their lives in grave danger.
Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland has joined ABC’s DIRTY DANCING, the remake of the 1987 dance feature starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey. Hyland joins previously cast Abigail Breslin (Baby), Cole Prattes (Johnny), Nicole Scherzinger, and Debra Messing. She is set to play Lisa Houseman, the older and out-going sister of Baby.
Piper Perabo is set to star in NOTORIOUS as Julia George. The series follows the personal and professional relationship between charismatic attorney Jake Gregorian and powerhouse television producer Julia as they attempt to control the media, the justice system, and ultimately – each other.
Perabo stars opposite Daniel Sunjata as Jake Gregorian. She most recently starred in the USA drama series Covert Affairs.

Tia Mowry has been tapped for a recurring role on ABC’s summer series MISTRESSES. She will play Barbara Rutledege, an important, quick, cutting-wit literary agent who signs Yunjin Kim’s character Karen.
24‘s Kim Raver and Supergirl‘s Peter Facinelli have booked roles in Fox pilot ZOOBIQUITY. Based on the best-selling book from Dr. Barbara Natterson-Horowitz and Kathryn Bowers, the series follows the unlikely pairing of Dr. Kara Martins, a successful, driven cardiologist as she risks career suicide by teaming with Dr. Lucas Cort, a brilliant, socially-challenged veterinarian who related better to animals than people. They try to put aside their competitive natures to cure the incurable using a unique blend of cross-species medicine that’s never been tried before.
Facinelli will play Cort while Raver is set as Dr. Julia Fowler, the chief of medicine at Chicago Hospital.
THE EXCORCIST has booked Alfonso Herrera and Ben Daniels for the TV adaptation of the 1971 thriller novel by William Friedkin. Herrera is set as Father Tomas Ortega with Daniels as Father Marcus Lang, the pair of priests tackling one family’s case of horrifying demonic possession and confronting the face of true evil. The pilot is set up at Fox from 20th Century Fox TV and Morgan Creek Productions.
FOUR STARS has tapped Ashley Zuckerman in the drama that centers on two powerful rival families in the military community of Tampa, FL, who make decisions at the highest levels in the interest of national security. Zuckerman will play Danny, the son of four-star Special Ops legend General Buckley, who has all of his father’s swagger and rough edges and none of the internal censor.
Ali Wong has won a series regular role opposite Katy Mixon in the single-camera comedy THE SECOND FATTEST HOUSEWIFE IN WESTPORT at ABC. Wong will play Doris, a responsible and hands-on mother who cares about things like throwing large Easter egg hunts and sending out the right Christmas cards.
SIX has added Christopher Backus to the cast of the History’s new military action-drama. The series is inspired by current events as it follows a brotherhood of modern American warriors, Navy SEAL Team Six, whose 2014 mission to eliminate a Taliban leader in Afghanistan goes awry when they uncover a U.S. citizen working with the terrorists.
Stephen Tobolowsky has joined Netflix’s ONE DAY AT A TIME remake. It centers on Penelope a recently separated former military mom who is navigating a new single life while raising her radical teenaged daughter and socially adept tween son, with the “help” of her old school Cuban-born mom and a friends-without-benefits building manager Schneider. Tobolowsky will play Penelope’s boss Dr. Berkowitz, the widowed lead doctor where she works and a potential love interest for Abuela, played by Rita Moreno.
The untitled Meaghan Oppenheimer drama pilot has added Penelope Ann Miller to star opposite Grey’s Anatomy alum T.R. Knight. The series follows the personal and professional life of Gemma, a ruthless divorce attorney in Dallas, which begins to unravel when her emotionally damaged, love-addicted sister resurfaces, triggering self-destructive tendencies and exposing long-hidden family secrets. Miller will play Elizabeth Hamilton, the wife of a Texas oil billionaire who is seeking revenge after having been left for another woman.
Andy Ridings has won the male lead role in untitled Ed Weeks and Brit Mackay comedy pilot. The laughter centers on lesbian Hilda and her best friend Randall (Ridings), a neurotic straight guy, as they navigate their dysfunctional, co-dependent friendship and the world of dating.
Christian Ochoa and Christina Pickles have landed a series regular roles in ABC pilot THE DEATH OF EVA SOFIA VALDEZ. Written by Charise Castro Smith, the series centers on Eva Sofia Valdez, an immigrant who rose from rags to riches and is a celebrated Miami entrepreneur and a champion of immigrant rights. Ochoa will play Eva’s youngest son who is his mother’s undeniable favorite. Pickles is set as Astrid, a “90 pound ballbuster in a Chanel suit” whose family has ruled the Miami roost for decades.
Hulu drama CHANCE has booked Greta Lee. The series is a psychological thriller that focuses on Eldon Chance, a San Francisco-based forensic neuropsychiatrist who reluctantly gets sucked into a violent and dangerous world of mistaken identity, police corruption, and mental illness.
SEBASTIAN has cast Steve Talley in a series regular role opposite Sebastian Maniscalco and Tony Danza. The multi-camera pilot chronicles Seabastian’s old-school values, instilled by his opinionated Italian father, which are constantly put to the test by his new wife, her family and the absurdities of the modern world.
LaMonica Garrett has booked a role in ABC’s DESIGNATED SURVIVOR starring Keifer Sutherland. The story centers on Tom Kirkman (Sutherland), a lower-level U.S. Cabinet member who suddenly is appointed President of the United States after a catastrophic attack during the State of the union kills everyone above him in the presidential line of succession.
THE INFAMOUS has cast Jahmil French in the hip-hop crime pilot from A&E. The series revolves around two complicated men on a collision course: an ambitious reformed gangster poised to break out of South LA and the LAPD detective hellbent on taking him down.
CW’s FEQUENCY pilot has tapped Anthony Ruivivar to star opposite Riley Smith, Peyton List, and Mekhi Phifer. The series is based on Toby Emmerich’s sci-fi thriller and centers on List as Raimy, a police detective in 2016 who discovers that she is able to speak via a ham radio with her estranged father, Frank Sullivan, a detective who died in 1996.

Brian d’Arcy James has landed the co-lead role opposite Jermaine Fowler in SUPERIOR DONUTS. The mulit-camera comedy from CBS follows the relationship between the owner of a donut shop, Arthur, his new young employee, Franco, and their patrons in a gentrifying neighborhood of Chicago.
James is repped by Gersh and Thruline.
McClure is repped by Talent House and Schachter/Brown.
Neal Bledsoe is heading to Mars in the untitled project for the CW. He plays Lewis, a handsome, charming, brilliant, resolute, and the clear first choice for the first colonizing expedition to Mars.

Paterson Joseph and Malcolm Barrett have joins NBC’s adventure drama TIME from Supernatural creator Eric Kripke and The Shield creator Shawn Ryan. The series follows an unlikely trio who travel through time to battle a master criminal intent on altering the fabric of human history with potentially catastrophic results.
