My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 star Nia Vardalos has signed on for ABC’s new Shonda Rhimes series THE CATCH. She will recur but details of her role are being kept under wraps.
The series is a cat-and-mouse game that centers on Alice Vaughan, a forensics accountant who will stop at nothing to get to the truth after her fiancee runs off with all of her money and having hacked her entire company.
Vardalos is repped by APA and Untitled Entertainment.
NBC’s proposed The Blacklist spinoff is off and running, with Tawny Cypress joining previously cast lead Famke Janssen as well as Ryan Eggold, and Edi Gathegi. Cypress will have a recurring role towards the end of Blacklist‘s current season before joining the spinoff on the new project for next season.
Cypress is repped by Abrams Artists Agency and Sinclair Management.
Trevor Einhorn has joined ABC’s remake of DIRTY DANCING. He will play Neil Kellerman, the heir to the Kellerman resort in the Catskills in the 1960s. Neil played Lonny Price in the original 1987 movie.
He is repped by GVA Talent Agency and Luber Roklin Entertainment.
24: LEGACY has cast Sheila Vand in a series regular role. She joins previously cast Corey Hawkins, Miranda Otto, and Jimmy Smits in the reboot of the Kieffer Sutherland-starring Fox series.

SHOTS FIRED has tapped Jill Hennessy for the Fox event series. The show examines the dangerous aftermath of racially charged shootings in a small North Carolina town. Hennessey is set as Alicia Carr, the affluent mother of the teen involved in a police shooting.
Hennessey is repped by APA and More/Medavoy Management.
GUILT has booked Anthony Stewart Head, joining his daughter Daisy Head, who was previously cast. The drama follows Grace Atwood, a young American in London who becomes the prime suspect in the savage murder of her roommate.
Head is repped by APA.
Jose Moreno Brooks has landed a recurring role in BABY DADDY. He will play Roger, a handsome, enthusiastic though somewhat awkward paralegal who is the assistant to Riley.
Brooks is repped by KMR and Bob McGowan.
