THE SON has filled out its cast with Sam Neill in the lead role alongside Henry Garrett, Zahn McClarnon, Paola Nunez, and Sydney Lucas. The series is based on the book by Philipp Meyer and written by Meyer, Lee Shipman, and Brian McGreevy, and is a multi-generational epic tale of the story of American’s birth as a superpower through the bloody rise and fall of one Texas family.
Neill will play Eli, the charismatic patriarch of the McCullough family. Garrett is set as the eldest son Pete, McClarnon will play Comanche war chief Toshaway, and Nunez is Maria Garcia, the last of a wealthy Spanish aristocracy in south Texas. Lucas will play Jeannie McCullough, the strong-willed daughter of Pete.

American Idol‘s Jordin Sparks is set to make her pilot season debut with Kevin Williamson’s TIME AFTER TIME in a recurring role. The ABC pilot is based on the 1979 novel by Karl Alexander and used the movie as it’s starting point as it chronicles the epic adventures of a young H.G. Wells. Upon arriving in modern New York, he is captivated by museum curator Jane Walker. Sparks is set as New York stylist Jesse Givens who is also Walker’s roommate and good friend.

Alyssa Milano is reteaming with Jason Lee in a return to television in the comedy pilot WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND for CBS. The pair previously played a couple on NBC’s My Name Is Earl. The new project from Dan Kopelman and Aaron Kaplan centers on two fortysomething parents – Kenny (Lee) and Robin (Milano) – who were wild and reckless teenagers and now face their worst nightmare of raising three teenagers. After vowing that she’d never be like her overly strict parents, Robin now tries to be open and understand with her kids – but sometimes she’d just like to lock them up until they’re ready for college.
This is Milano’s first series gig since ABC’s Mistresses. She jumpstarted her career as a child actress with the family sitcom Who’s The Boss? before jumping into more mature roles with a starring role in the WB’s Charmed.

Justin Kirk and Eric Winter are teaming up for APB. The series from David Slack was inspired by a New York Times article and explores what happens when enigmatic tech billionaire Gideon Reed purchases a troubled police precinct in the wake of a dear friend’s murder. Kirk, best known for the dark comedy Weeds, is set as Gideon while Winter will play Sgt. Tom Murphy, a vice cop with a big heart and a family man.

Julie Benz has won the female lead in TRAINING DAY. Best known for her work on Showtime’s Dexter, Benz will play Holly McCabe, an unapologetic Hollywood madam who looks like a woman half her age and takes pride in how well she treats her girls. She joins previously cast Bill Paxton, Drew Van Acker, Katrina Law, and Lex Scott Davis.

Sarah Wayne Callies is returning PRISON BREAK in her original role of Dr. Sara Tancredi. She joins previously announced stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell in the nine-episode event series that is a follow-up to the original 2005 Fox series. The new story picks up after Michael’s apparent death, Sara has moved on with her life, raising her and Michael’s child with her new husband. When clues surface suggesting that Michael may be alive, Sara teams with Lincoln to engineer the seres’ biggest escape ever.

Milana Vayntrub, known as an AT&T spokesperson and for recurring spots in Love and Silicon Valley, has book a series regular role in the untitled Laura Steinel comedy. The series stars Judy Greer as Jane, the over-used and under-appreciated head of H.R. for a Fox plastic molding plant, who is caught between trying to manage her charmingly incompetent human resources department and a new eccentric CEO who dreams of bringing the New Jersey plastics plant into the future.

Odette Annable has signed on to star opposite Dermot Mulroney in CBS’s medical drama BUNKER HILL. She will play Zoe, a forthright, idealistic physician at Bunker Hill, and a positive life force.

NO TOMORROW has tapped Amy Pietz for a series regular role opposite Tori Anderson. She will play Deirdre, Evie’s (Anderson) boss at a distribution center.

SPARK has tapped Antonia Thomas for the lead in the Steampunk alternate-2016 drama series for ABC. She plays Pin, a rebellious young woman with a spark of invention that could level both their empires.

Hulu’s CASUAL has added Dylan Gelula in a recurring role for the second season. She will play Aubrey, a wry and self-confident student.

Tiffany Dupont is headed to TNT for a role in the third season of MURDER IN THE FIRST. She will play Serena Parrish, who has made a name for herself in the male-dominated world of sports reporting as an aggressive, independent blogger.
