DIRK GENTLY has tapped Samuel Barnett for the lead role opposite Elijah Wood in the BBC America series penned by Max Landis. The comedy-thriller follows the bizarre adventures of eccentric, “holistic” detective Dirk Gently and his reluctant assistant Todd, as they went their way through one big, seemingly insane mystery a season, crossing unlikely paths with a bevy of wild and sometimes dangerous characters, each episode landing them a few random steps closer to uncovering the truth.
Barnett is a two-time Tony Award nominee for his performances in Twelfth Night, opposite Mark Rylance, and in The History Boys. He will next be seen in Showtime’s Penny Dreadful.

Homeland’s Navid Negahban has joined season 4 of ABC’s summer soap MISTRESSES. He will play the recurring role of Jonathan Amadi, an uber-successful Persian businessman.

Tattiawna Jones has landed the female lead in the untitled Weeks/Mackay comedy at ABC. The single camera project cetners on Jones as Hilda and her best friend Randall, a neurotic straight guy, as they navigate their dysfunctional, a co-dependent friendship and the world of dating.
Jones is repped by APA and Carrier Talent Management.
Oded Fehr and Fernanda Andrade have been added to ABC’s MARVEL’S MOST WANTED. The series is a spinoff of Agents of SHIELD following Barbara “Bobbi” Morse, aka Mockingbird, and Lance Hunter. Fehr’s role is being kept under wraps but is a “well-known character from teh Marvel comics who will prove a force to be reckoned with.” Andrade will play Christina Santos, the niece of Dominic Fortune.

MACGYVER has tapped Addison Timlin for the female lead in the action series, along with Michelle Krusiec. The CBS pilot is a reboot of the 1980s series. Timlin will play app developer Mickey with a soft spot for MacGyver. Krusiec is set as Agent Croix from the Department of Homeland Security.
Timlin is repped by Gersh and Management 360. Krusiec is repped by Luber Roklin Entertainment and Global Artists Agency.
Brendan Hines has booked a co-starring role in THE TICK, the live-action reboot from Amazon of the cult Fox comedy and comic series. The series follows the blue-suited Tick as he is recovering from a memory loss and ends up reteaming with his sidekick Arthur to fight evil. Hines will play Superian, a hero with a few issues.

Cas Anvar has landed a recurring role in FX’s horror series THE STRAIN. He will play Sanjay Desai, an opportunistic young businessman eager to place himself in a protected position amidst the chaos.

THE FLUFFY SHOP has added Tyler Hilton after a recast. He takes over the role of Memo, a high-spirited and earnest person who is Gabe’s oldest and most loyal friend. The ABC comedy stars and was co-written by Gabriel Iglesias follows Gabe, a stefather and boss to his family and friends, while he navigates his home life during the few days he spends off the road each week.
Hilton is repped by Berwick & Kovacik and Don Buchwald & Associates.
Cynthia Addai-Robinson has won the female lead role opposite Ryan Phillippe in SHOOTER. The drama is based on Stephen Hunter’s novel Point Of Impact and follows Bob Lee Swagger, an expert marksman living in exile who is coaxed back into action after learning of a plot to kill the president, which was also made into a film starring Mark Wahlberg. Addai-Robinson is set as FBI agent Nadine Memphis.
