Three more cast in HBO’s “Big Little Lies”

The HBO limited series continues to build out its cast, adding Merin Dungey (Alias), Larry Sullivan (CSI), and David Monahan (The Dark Knight Rises) to the Nicole Kidman-Reese Witherspoon vehicle. BIG LITTLE LIES is an adapation of Liane Moriarty’s novel of the same name about three mothers of kindergartners – Celeste (Kidman), Madeline (Witherspoon) and Jane (Shailene Woodley) – whose apparently perfect lives unravel to the point of murder. Jean-Marc Vallée is directing.

Dungey will play Detective Adrienne Quinlan, the lead detective working the murder case. Real-life spouses Sullivan and Monahan will play a married couple and parents of a child at the local elementary school. Iain Armitage also is cast as Ziggy, the son of Jane.

Burn Notice and Fargo star Jeffrey Donovan has been cast as the male lead in Hulu’s original drama SHUT EYE. From creator Les Bohem (Extant), Tri-Star and Mark Johnson’s Gran Via Productions, the series takes a darkly comedic look at the underground world of storefront psychics and the organized crime syndicate that runs them. Showrunner Bohem, Gran Via Prods’ Johnson, and Melissa Bernstein will executive produce.
