Fred Willard, Michael McKean and Ed Begley Jr have joined Christopher Guest’s documentary style comedy FAMILY TREE. Don Lake will also make a guest appearance on the show. The project centers on a 30-year-old man (Chris O’Dowd) who finds a mysterious box his great aunt gave him which prompts him to explore his own heritage. Begley will play O’Dowd’s Uncle Andy, McKean will play his father and Willard will play his neighbor. Lake will play a friend of O’Dowd’s cousin. Willard currently stars in the TV series “Rob”. The project, which follows a girl who goes to prison after her drug mule boyfriend is busted, will feature Mulgrew as a Russian prisoner named Red who serves as a motherly figure in the prison. Justina Machado has been cast in the final regular role in PAGING DR. FREED. The project, which centers on two gynecologist brothers running their late father’s medical practice, will feature Machado as a no-nonsense office manager who acts as a tough-love mentor for the brothers.
