Chi McBride has been upped to series regular in the reboot of HAWAII FIVE-O. His character SWAT Captain Lou Grover debuted in the season four. McBride also does voice work for “Ultimate Spider-Man.” He is repped by UTA.
Frank Grillo has snatched up a lead in NAVY ST., which is a family drama set against the backdrop of Navy Street, a mixed martial arts gym based in Venice, CA. He will play the gym’s owner, Alvey Henderson, a former fighter who never made it big due to a former drug addiction. Grillo is best known for his film work having appeared in “The Grey” and soon to turn up in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” He is repped by CAA.
Anna Gunn and Jacki Weaver have both joined the cast of the BROADCHURCH remake, now called GRACEPOINT. The limited series follows the events and investigation that unfold in the sleepy seaside town of Gracepoint after the tragic and mysterious death of a young boy. Gunn will play Detective Ellie Miller, a happily married wife and mother who is looking forward to a promised promotion while Weaver will play Susan Wright, a glowering, mysterious woman who is new in town. Gunn is best known for “Breaking Bad” which just ended. She is repped by UTA. Weaver was last seen in “Parkland” and is repped by ICM.
David Bradley has replaced John Hurt in the upcoming Vampire outbreak series THE STRAIN. He will take over the role of Setrakian, a holocaust survivor who immigrated to the United States after World War II and now runs a pawn shop in Spanish Harlem. Bradley also stars in “Game of Thrones” as Walder Frey.
Rachel Blanchard (“Psych”, “Legit”) has joined the cast of the limited series remake of FARGO, which will have new characters and different case. So It’s more of a sequel than anything else. Anyhow, Blachard will play an unspecified recurring role. She is repped by Paradigm.
Rosemarie DeWitt has joined the cast of the upcoming OLIVE KITTERIDGE mini-series. She’ll play Rachel Coulson, a fragile shut-in. She is repped by CAA. Bill Murray has also joined the cast and will play Jack Kennison, a local widower whom Kitteridge befriends.
Bonita Friedericy has snagged a role in UNREAL, which goes behind the scenes of a hit competition dating series to follow the experiences of a young staffer whose lone job is to manipulate the relationships with (and among) the contestants in order to get the vital dramatic and outrageous footage producers demand. She will play Dr. Wagerstein, the network-mandated show psychologist. Friedericy has appeared in “Hart of Dixie”, “Justified” and “Chuck.” She is repped by Amsel, Eisenstadt & Frazier Talent Agency.
Marley Shelton (“Mad Men”, “Eleventh Hour”) has snagged the lead in THE LOTTERY, which is set in a world where women have stopped having children, threatening extinction of the human race. When 100 embryos are successfully fertilized, a national lottery is held to decide the surrogates. She’ll play Dr. Alison Scott the brilliant fertility specialist who made the breakthrough. She is repped by UTA.
Fred Dryer has landed a guest star arc in upcoming drama CRISIS. The story revolves around Washington’s most powerful players as they are pulled into an international conspiracy when an unlikely puppeteer brings everyone from CEOs to the president of the United States to their knees by threatening the things they hold most dear. Dryer will play Thomas Jefferson Smith, a powerful, imposing, confident and wise seasoned CIA agent who, despite being in his 60s, can still kick butt. He is repped by Greater Vision Artists Talent Agency.
Christine Evangelista has picked up a recurring role in CHICAGO FIRE. She’ll play Allison Rafferty, a new paramedic who’s a bit of a firecracker. She appeared in “Lucky 7” and “666 Park Avenue” before that. She’s repped by WME.
Julian Sands has landed a recurring role in CROSSBONES, which is an upcoming pirate drama. He will play a character named William Jagger, an aristocrat-turned-privateer and governor of Jamaica. Sands last had bit roles in “Dexter” and “Person of Interest.” He is repped by SDB Partners.
Elizabeth Rohm (“Angel”, “The Client List”) and J.R. Ramirez (“Emily Owens M.D.”) have joined the cast of POWER, which revolves around a wealthy New York City nightclub owner, who is also the kingpin of the most lucrative drug network in New York, who wants to build an empire and turn the club into a Fortune 500 business. Rohm will play Cynthia, who works for Vogue magazine and is working with Ghost and his club to host a blowout party for her boss. Ramirez will play Julio, second in command. Rohm and Ramirez are repped by Mavrick Artists Agency and Pantheon Talent respectively. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has also joined the cast as Kanan, an old friend of the nightclub owner/drug dealer. Lisa Bonet will have a 4 episode arc on THE RED ROAD, which revolves around a local cop struggling to keep his family together while simultaneously policing two clashing communities: the small town where he grew up and the neighboring mountains, home of a Native American tribe. She will play Sky Van Der Veen, a lawyer who represents the tribe. Bonet has recently appeared in an episode of “Drunk History” and as a regular on “Life on Mars” before that.
Noah Bean (“Nikita”) and Å½eljko Ivanek (“Banshee”) have joined the cast of the 12 MONKEYS series “based” on the movie by Terry Gilliam. Bean will have a leading role while Ivanek will just guest star. Bean and Ivanek are repped by Gersh and Leading Artists respectively.
Leah Remini has landed a multi-episode arc on THE EXES in a recurring role. She’ll play Nicki, “a tough-talking, no-nonsense, stylish and sexy woman from Staten Island whose 17-year marriage ends when she finds out her policeman husband had an affair.” Remini last appeared in “Family Tools” in a recurring role.
