TV SALES
Sundance has picked up the tv dramatization of THE DESCENDANTS for a straight-to-series six episode order. Written by Aaron Guzikowski, the project revolves around a sheriff struggling to keep his family together while simultaneously policing two clashing communities. Guzikowski is repped by Verve.
David Kohan and Max Mutchnick have sold two shows this week. The first one is an untitled comedy set up at Showtime, that centers on a self-made first generation American billionaire, his family, and the staff that serves them. The second project CLIPSTERS is set up at TBS and is an ensemble workplace comedy set in a hipster barbershop in the not-so-hip town of Worcester, MA (just outside of Boston). Mutchnick is repped by WME.
Comedy Central has given a 10 episode order to BROAD CITY, that follows two friends in New York City navigating their way through the minutiae that is life. The series will be written by Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer who will also executive produce alongside Amy Poehler and Dave Becky. They are both repped by CAA.
TV ATTACHMENTS
Ang Lee has been tapped to helm the pilot episode of TYRANT, that tells the story of an unassuming American family drawn into the workings of a turbulent Middle Eastern nation. He will server as an executive producer alongside creator Gideon Raff. Lee last directed “Life of Pi” and is repped by CAA.
TV DEALS
Glen Mazzaran has signed an overall deal with Fox Tv Studios. He will develop cable tv shows through his newly minted production company 44 Strong Productions. He is repped by CAA.
