CBS Television Studios has bought A WELCOME GRAVE, a novel by Michael Koryta, and plans to adapt the book into a series. The book is the third in a series of novels revolving around PI Lincoln Perry and follows Perry as he is put in the middle of two police investigations after an old rival is murdered. Kennedy Marshall Company will produce the series.
HBO has ordered a pilot script for the drama BUDA BRIDGE. Set in the near future, a woman is found dead on Buda Bridge in Brussels, leading to a series of crimes that brings chaos to the city. Michael R. Roskam will write the script, direct the pilot and co-executive produce. Michael Mann (“Luck”) and Mark Johnson (“Breaking Bad”) will executive produce.
LIFETIME is developing a two-hour backdoor pilot for WHISPER OF FEAR. Based on the 2008 book by Rhonda Saunders, the book tells the true story of a California prosecutor and a cop who team up to bring a stalker to justice. Craig Piligian will produce through his company, Pilgrim Studios. David Wiener will write the pilot.
TV PICK-UPS
FX has picked up the drama pilot THE AMERICANS for a 13-episode first season order. The series follows two KGB spies posing as Americans in Washington D.C. after Reagan is elected President of the United States. Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys and Noah Emmerich are set to star. Gavin O’Connor directed the pilot. Creator Joe Weisberg is set as showrunner and will exec produce with Graham Yost. Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey will exec produce for DreamWorks Television. The show is also co-produced by Fox TV Studios and FX Productions.
