ABC has ordered a pilot for THE LAST DAY OF MAN (previously known as the version of MAN UP starring Tim Allen) from writer/exec producer Jack Burditt. The project, which was originally bought with a pilot commitment in November, 2010, centers on a guy fighting for his manhood in a world of women. Sold in a bidding war, along with Tim Allen starring, he will also exec produce alongside Marty Adelstein, Shawn Levy and Becky Clements.
NBC has handed out a pilot order to the new supernatural cop drama 17TH PRECINCT from writer/exec producer Ron Moore. Series, which was picked up in September, 2010, is pitched as an adult “Harry Potter” which takes place in the fictional world of Excelsior where magic and supernatural elements rule over science.
USA has confirmed their love for new pilot A LEGAL MIND and handed out an 11-episode season order to writer/exec producer Aaron Korsh. Series, which will also be exec produced by Doug Liman and David Bartis, centers on a top Manhattan corporate lawyer, who decides to recruit a brilliant, yet unmotivated college dropout as his next new associate.
USA has also spread the love to new drama series NECESSARY ROUGHNESS, handing an 11-episode order to writer/exec producer Elizabeth Kruger and Craig Shapiro. Series, which is pitched as “The Blind Side” meets “Jerry McGuire,” centers on a sports therapist who helps high profile professional athletes. Kevin Dowling, Donna Dannenfesler and Joe Sabatino also exec produce.
