CBS has contionued to build on what it knows, adding the buddy PI drama HAIL MARY from writer/exec producer Jeff Wadlow. Series, which is also exec produced by Joel Silver and Beau Bauman, centers on a suburban single mom who teams up with a street-wise hustler to solve crimes.
CBS has also added a new medical drama to the slate, with the pick up of THE DOCTOR from writer/exec producer Rina Mimoun. Series centers on a mother who reconnects with her adult children when she joins the family medical practice.
FOX has handed out a greenlight to the now UNTITLED LIZ MERIWETHER COMEDY (previously known as CHICKS AND DICKS) from writer/exec producer Liz Meriwether. The project, which was previously picked up in October, 2010, centers on an optimistic Midwestern woman who moves into a New York City apartment with three rather juvenile guys. Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope also exec produce.
NBC has made a late addition, buying up the spec pilot BLACK & RIGHT from writer/exec producer Jenifer Rice-Genzuk. Series, which is also exec produced by Brian Volk-Weiss and Michael Pelmont, centers on a young, hip liberal African-American couple who lose everything and are forced to move in with their die-hard Republican pundit mother and her white conservative husband.
