ABC has greenlit a pilot for the comedy series MY FRICKIN FAMILY (previously COWBOYS AND INDIANS) from writer/exec producer Erica Rivinoja. Series, which will also be exec produced by Peter Traugott, centers on a young couple as they have their first baby, and their four, culturally-diverse parents descend on them, to help raise the baby “their way”.
ABC has also greenlit the new laugher BAD MOM from writer/exec producer/star Sharon Horgan. Series, which is also exec produced by Aaron Kaplan, centers on a single mom who realizes her kids have been largely raised by her own mother, when she decides she is done, forcing her to return to raising her kids, and making a living once again.
CBS has picked up the new comedy TV spec HOW TO BE A GENTLEMAN from writer/exec producer/star David Hornsby. Series, which is also exec produced by Ted Schachter, is pitched as a buddy comedy about an uptight guy learning to live his life with the help of his old high school classmate. The show is loosely based on the book of the same name, written by John Bridges.
CBS greenlit new sports series HOME GAME from writers/exec producers Warren Bell and Chris Nowak. Series, which is also exec produced by Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson, Lisa Schlereth, Alexandria Schlereth and Peter Sussman, centers on a retired NFL player who after living for the game for over a decade, now returns full time to his home, his wife and daughters.
CBS has also greenlit another multi-cam sports-themed pilot with the go-ahead on the UNTITLED COLIN COWHERD STORY from writers/exec producers Bill Martin and Mike Schiff. Series, which is also exec produced by Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum and Colin Cowherd, is loosely based on the life of sports announcer Colin Cowherd.
CW has moved quick to pick up the spec pilot AWAKENING from writers/exec producers William Laurin and Glenn Davis. Series, which will also be exec produced by Howard T. Owens, Carolyn Bernstein and Todd Cohen, centers on two sisters who come of age and face off against one another amidst the beginning of a zombie uprising.
HBO has officially greenlit the new drama series MORE AS THE STORY DEVELOPS from writer/exec producer Aaron Sorkin. Series, which will also be exec produced by Scott Rudin, is pitched as a behind the scenes drama about the ongoings, and the people who work for a nightly cable news show.
LOGO has picked up new multi-cam laugher QUEEN OF HARTS from writer/exec producer Peter Marc Jacobson. Series centers on a struggling hairdresser who disguises himself as a woman in order to land a job as a nanny for the family of a former ’80s rock star.
NBC has moved ahead, and greelit the fairytale pilot GRIMM from writers/exec producers David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf. Series, which is also exec produced by Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner, is pitched as a fantastical cop drama set in a world where characters the characters of Grimm’s Fairy Tales exist.
