A&E has picked up the new PI drama OVERLOAD from writer/exec producer John E. Pogue. Series, which centers on a female detective blessed and cursed with hyper-acute senses, and the ability to balance her work and personal life in Boston, is also exec produced by Irwin Winkler, David Winkler and Jill Cutler.
CBS has greenlit the female cop drama that just missed the cut in 2010, known as the UNTITLED REDLICH/BELLUCCI DETECTIVE DRAMA from writers/exec producers Ed Redlich and John Bellucci. Series, which centers on a female detective who possesses the special ability to remember everything and, although a gift in her job, it’s also a curse in her personal life, is also exec produced by Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly.
CBS has greenlit the new multi-cam comedy THE ASSISTANTS from writer/exec producer Tucker Cawley. Series, which will also be exec produced by Kim Tannenbaum and Eric Tannenbaum, centers on four young assistants who work for an A-list powerhouse celebrity couple.
COMEDY CENTRAL has revived, and given a new greenlight to the once dead Spike pilot PLAYING WITH GUNS from writers/exec producers Bob Castrone, Brian Levin and Jason Zumwalt. Series, which was already greenlit to pilot once before for Spike, will receive a new pilot about the two best friends who had no idea what they wanted to be when they grew up, so they decided to sign up for a job that allows them to hang out together, run red lights, and best of all — play with guns – they became cops. Brian Robbins and Sharla Sumpter-Bridgett will exec produce again, this time with star Danny Masterson joining them. Robbins will also direct the pilot once again.
MTV has made the long-gestating rumor finally a reality, by agreeing to bring back BEAVIS AND BUTT-HEAD for another go-round from writer/exec producer Mike Judge.
NBC has moved ahead with a pick-up to pilot for recently acquired drama REM from writer/exec producer Kyle Killen. Series, which was picked up as a spec, is described as an Inception-style thriller about a cop who wakes up after an accident to find he is living in two different realities.
NBC has moved ahead with a pilot greenlight for the new single-cam rom/com FREE AGENTS from writer/exec producer John Enbom. Series, which is based on the UK series of the same name, centers on the attraction between two quirky PR execs who are both on the rebound, one from a divorce and the other from the loss of a fiance, as they attempt to navigate a world of will they/won’t they together. Kenton Allen, Todd Holland and Karey Burke also exec produce.
NBC has added another laugher to their greenlit pile, by ordering to pilot the new comedy LOVELIVES from writer/exec producer Chris Sheridan. Series, which centers on a couple who explore cheating on their spouse and the friends/family members around them who encourage it, will also be exec produced by Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope.
NBC has rounded out their greenlight day, by ordering the multi-cam laugher, the UNTITLED DAN GOOR COMEDY from writer/exec producer Dan Goor. Series, which centers on a young doctor who joins his parents’ medical practice and spends as much time tending to his family as to his patients, will also be exec produced by Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun.

Brian Robbins (Playing With Guns) has once again signed on to helm the pilot he shot previously for Spike TV, by agreeing to re-shoot the upcoming pilot PLAYING WITH GUNS for COMEDY CENTRAL.
