FOX has given a pilot order to REBOUNDING, a single-camera comedy from Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, with helmer Jason Winer on board to direct. Described as an uplifting comedy, the series centers on a man recovering from the death of his fiance with the help of the idiots on his pick-up basketball team.
NICKELODEON has bought global broadcast rights to the Canadian sitcom LIFE WITH BOYS, from the mind of Michael Poryes (Hannah Montana). The cable network will have exclusive U.S. broadcast rights.

James Burrows has signed on to direct two CBS comedies. They include: UNTITLED MALINS/BERLANTI COMEDY PROJECT and PARTNERS. The Malins/Berlanti project centers on Nick, who has a health scare and realizes that Wendy, his best friend and business partner of 15 years, is “the one”. Now he has to figure out how to break it to her. “Partners” is a personal story of two lifelong friends and business partners, one straight and one gay. This is the latest collaboration between Burrows, Max Mutchnick and David Kohan.
Pamela Fryman will direct two multi-camera pilots for CBS and NBC, including FREIEND ME and DADDY’S GIRLS. “Friend Me,” from Alan Kirschenbaum and Ajay Sahgal, centers on twenty-something best friends Evan and Rob, who move from their hometown of Bloomington, Indiana, to Los Angeles to begin their exciting new lives working at Groupon. “Grils” centers on a woman who discovers her father is dating one of the “mean girls” she went to high school with.
Richard Shepard is set to direct and executive produce the CBS pilot GOLDEN BOY. The drama tracks one cop’s meteoric rise from officer to detective to Police Commissioner.
Miguel Arteta has signed on to direct and executive produce the new CW series CARRIE DIARIES, the “Sex And The City” prequel based on Candace Bushnell’s book. The series focuses on Carrie Bradshaw’s coming-of-age in the 1980s, when she asks her first questions about love, sex, friendship and family while exploring the worlds of high school and Manhattan.
Brett Ratner is set to direct and executive produce the UNTITLED KARYAN USHER SPY PILOT, written by Karyan Usher. The procedural thriller centers on the orphaned 17-year-old daughter of a CIA operative who is recruited to become an operative herself.
