TV SALES
FX has picked up to pilot the superhero comic book adaptation POWERS from writer/exec producer Charles Eglee. Series, which is based on the comic book series from creators/exec producers Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, centers on a police detective, who once had super powers, who is now in charge of investigating superhero-related homicides. Michael Dinner and David Engel will also exec produce. Kevin Falls wrote a script originally, which was not used.
FX has also picked up (thought not yet to pilot) the project IGOTCHABACK. The series, which will center on the relationship between rapper GZA and his manager Heathcliff Berru, will be exec produced by David Krumholtz, who is eyeing it as a starring vehicle.
TV RENEWALS
IFC has decided to renew the dry comedy laugher THE INCREASINGLY POOR DECISIONS OF TODD MARGARET, with stars David Cross and Will Arnett set to return.
TV CANCELLATIONS
TBS has pulled the plug on a second season of 1980’s college experience dramedy GLORY DAZE.
HBO has also decided to pull the plug on a series order for Hollywood blogger-series TILDA, set to be loosely based on “Nikki Finke”.
TV DEALS
Jen Crittenden and Gabrielle Allan have signed an overall 2-year/7-figure creative deal with ABC, where they will become immediate Exec producers/showrunner on the laugher BAD MOM, as well as goto work on creating new, original comedy shows.
