BBC has given a series order to the new period drama THE HOUR from writer/executive producer Abi Morgan. The series, which will receive a 6-episode run up front, is pitched as “Mad Men” meets a Cold War conspiracy thriller, centered around a love triangle among characters charged with setting up a weekly investigative news program.
COMEDY CENTRAL is in finale negotiations to pick up and greenlight to pilot the new single-cam comedy pilot BLACK JACK from writer/executive producer Michael Starrbury. The project, which is also exec produced by David Gordon Green (who will also direct), Danny McBride, Jody Hill, and Matt Reilly centers on Black Jack who, after 20 years as the most kick-ass special ops agent the US government has had on its payroll, finally goes too far and suffers being de-commissioned. He’s sent home to begin the most treacherous mission he’s ever faced – normal life.
HBO has greenlit a pilot for the new 1/2 hour comedy series they picked up in October 2010 starring Tea Leoni, entitled SPRING/FALL.

COMEDY CENTRAL has given a full 26-episode renewal for another new season of returning animation series FUTURAMA.
