ADULT SWIM has handed out a pilot order to the upcoming comedy pilot REGAL PRODUCTIONS from writer/executive producer/director/star Bob Odenkirk. The series, will center on the humorous side of running a low-budget strip mall production company that churns out wedding videos, Internet ads and no-budget infomercials.
FOX has found a new way to tap the school scene, by picking up the pilot for the UNTITLED JACOBS/BURNS PUBLIC SCHOOL DRAMA from writer/executive producer Ed Burns. The series, which was developed and will also be exec produced by Katie Jacobs and Amber Tamblyn, with Lin-Manuel Miranda producing in some capacity as well. In the show Tamblyn will take the main stage as a young teacher attempting to navigate the world of public education in America.
HBO has decided to give Katherine Heigl a shot on TV once again, picking up the novel THE KNITTING CIRCLE for her to star. The film, which will premiere on HBO, will be written by Craig Wright, and will center on a mother mourning the death of her young daughter and struggling to overcome the grief that confines every aspect of her life. Based on the book by Ann Hood, the project will also be produced by Nancy Heigl.
