COMEDY CENTRAL has picked up the new comedy spec pilot GENIUSES from writers/executive producers and planned stars Adam Nee and Ryan Judd. The series, which the pair will develop as a potential midseason pickup, will centers on two naive and hapless friends who have been blissfully gliding through life from job to job with only their sexy neighbor’s attention as a goal in life. But one day, when they realize there may be more to just their neighbor’s attention they set out to see what it’s like to become real responsible adults.
TV LAND is so on fire with their hit sitcom “Hot In Cleveland” that they’ve decided to kick off a spinoff series with the UNTITLED CEDRIC IN CLEVELAND PROJECT from writers/executive producers Suzanne Martin and Cedric the Entertainer. The series, which will almost go the route of a backdoor pilot (Cedric’s character will appear in an episode of ‘Cleveland’ then if the network likes him, will take a fast-track straight to series (forgoing a pilot). The ‘Cedric’ project, which he will star in, will center on the humorous life ‘Cedric’ lives as a minister in Cleveland.

CMT has cancelled Ed Asner series WORKING CLASS after just one season.
TV DEALS
Alan Poul has signed an exclusive multi-year deal with HBO, which will see him take on executive producer and showrunner duties on the Aaron Sorkin pilot MORE AS THE STORY DEVELOPS, and he will also direct several episodes if the project goes to series.
