MTV has handed out a pilot order for the single-cam comedy ZACH STONE IS GONNA BE FAMOUS from writers/exec producers Luke Liacos and Dan Lagana. The series, which will star, and is co-created by Bo Burnham, centers on a kid fresh out of high school who hires a camera crew to film him because he believes it will be his first step towards becoming famous. Dave Becky and Burnham also exec produce.
NICK AT NITE has decided to join the mass jump into scripted laughers, by picking up multi-cam comedy DADDY’S HOME from writers/exec producers Tina Albanese and Pat Labyorteaux. The series, which will star co-creator Scott Baio, centers on a spoiled and pampered actors who is known as America’s favorite “TV Dad,” yet, when thrust into the role of stay-at-home dad, realizes he is way over his head. Eric Bischoff and Jason Hervey will also exec produce alongside Baio.
TV DEALS
Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters have signed a 2-year/7-figure deal with CBS. As part of the deal, the pair will take on consulting duties on hit reboot “Hawaii Five-O”, while working on new original material for the network.
