SALES & PICK-UPS:
ABC has picked up to series pilot comedies NASHVILLE, THE NEIGHBORS, HOW TO LIVE WITH YOUR PARENTS FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, and FAMILY TOOLS. Also in the order are dramas RED WIDOW, ZERO HOUR, 666 PARK AVENUE, and THE LAST RESORT from “The Shield” creator Shawn Ryan.
CW is in big business with producer Josh Schwartz, as they have just ordered two of his new pilots to series, THE CARRIE DIARIES and CULTS. Other new pilots also picked up include BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and FIRST CUT. Superhero drama ARROW has also been greenlit.
NBC has ordered episodes of two new series, medical drama DO NO HARM and the detective soap INFAMOUS. They have also given a last-minute order to the Dane Cook starrer NEXT CALLER
RENEWALS:
ABC has renewed the breakout comedy HAPPY ENDINGS for a third season. The order is for a full 22-episode season for the Sony Television produced show. The Shonda Rhimes drama SCANDAL has also been renewed. Freshman comedy DON’T TRUST THAT B– IN APT. 23 has been renewed for a second season. Procedural BODY OF PROOF has been renewed with a 13-episode order
CW has renewed freshman series NIKITA and HART OF DIXIE. Dixie, starring Rachel Bilson received a full 22-episode order. GOSSIP GIRL has been granted a shortened and final season.
FOX has renewed animated comedies FAMILY GUY and AMERICAN DAD for their 11th and 8th seasons, respectively.
NBC has officially renewed 30 ROCK for its seventh – and final – season, while PARENTHOOD is returning for its 4th. PARKS AND RECREATION has also been picked up for a new season. Also renewed by the network is the pop-culture comedy COMMUNITY. The surprise, however, comes with the renewal of their freshman comedy WHITNEY for a second season. They have also given a last-minute order to UP ALL NIGHT, starring Christina Applegate and Will Arnett.
CANCELED:
ABC has pulled the plug on the Kisten Chenoweth comedy GCB. Also canceled are PAN AM, Ashley Judd-starrer MISSING, and found-footage thriller THE RIVER.
CW has decided to swing the axe on freshman dramas THE SECRET CIRCLE and Sarah Michelle Gellar-starrer RINGER.
FOX has put the official kibosh on newbie dramas ALCATRAZ and THE FINDER, as well as BREAKING IN and I HATE MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER.
NBC has canceled five shows: Comedies ARE YOU THERE CHELSEA?, BEST FRIENDS FOREVER, and BENT, as well as HARRY’S LAW and AWAKE.
