SALES & PICK-UPS
TNT has given a pilot order the action/drama series THE LAST SHIP, executive produced by Michael Bay. Based on the novel by William Brinkley and written for the small screen by Hank Steinberg and Steven Kane, the story centers on the crew of a naval destroyer who, after a global catastrophe decimates the earth’s population, are forced to confront the reality of their new existence in a world where they are among the only survivors. Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form will also executive produce, with Steinberg and Kane serving as showrunners.
RENEWALS
CBS and 20th Century Fox TV has started to negotiate ordering one more additional season how the hit comedy sitcome HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER. The original idea was for the show wrap things up after upcoming season eight, but with rejuvenated rating both sides pitched the new proposal. The excitement (or not) is all prelominary at this point, as contracts for creators/exec producers Carter Bays and Craig Thomas do not go beyond 2013. Resigning the five stars in the series may also prove to be a significant challenge.
