NBC has given a 10-episode order to the new supernatural series DRACULA, and they’ve tapped Jonathan Rhys Meyers to play the leading vampire.
The series is set in the 1890s and follows Dracula, who arrives in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who maintains that he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. In reality, he hopes to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier. In the process he falls in love with a woman who seems of be a reincarnation of his dead wife.
VH1 has picked up to series its second scripted pilot BOUNCE, starring Dean Cain, Kimberly Elise, Charlotte Ross, Taylour Paige and Logan Browning. The series is written and created by James LaRosa and follows the lives of the Los Angeles Devil Girls, a dance team for the number one professional basketball team. The story centers on Ahsha (Paige), a young woman who joins the dance team against her mother’s wishes, who knows the tempting world her daughter is stepping into, having been in the Devil Girl herself.
TNT is going into combat with REACT, an original military-black ops drama that will be penned by former “Suits” showrunner Sean Jablonski and produced by the Bandito Brothers, the duo behind “Act of Valor.” Currently details on the series are limited, but it is described as revolving around a secret black ops task grounded in reality. The series was picked up back in January with a script-to-series committment, bypassing the pilot stage. Producers on the new series include Tony Krantz and Colin Callender, with writer Cole Haddon also producing.
