TV SALES:
ABC has given a greenlight to long in development reboot CHARLIE’S ANGELS. Series, which has replaced the creative power behind it, moving from Josh Friedman to Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, will still see Leonard Goldberg (of the original series) and Drew Barrymore on to exec produce.
TNT has picked up & greenlit the drama cop pilot BIRD DOG from writer/exec producer Mike Robe. The series, which Warner Horizon will produce, centers on a father daughter police team in a small Northwestern American town.
TV CANCELLATIONS:
Not quite a cancellation, but most likely the end, CBS has cut the episode order for the seventh, and what appears to be final season of MEDIUM.
SyFy has cancelled CAPRICA, just mere episodes into the second season, and not even a week after announcing another Battlestar Galactica prequel was being greenlit. Episodes will be halted next week, and air at future dates yet to be determined.
TV RENEWALS:
HBO has renewed two series currently airing in their sophmore years, giving BORED TO DEATH and EASTBOUND & DOWN a renewals for a third season each.
TV ATTACHMENTS:
Martin Scorsese and Nicholas Pileggi are working on adapting gangster “Goodfellas” into a new tv series, also named… (wait for it) GOODFELLAS. Series plans are in early days, but getting the original writer and director aboard is a big step in the right direction.
