ABC has landed an UNTITLED LERNER/LITTLEFEILD COMEDY PROJECT from “Happy Endings co-executive producer Gail Lerner and producer Lauren Littlefield. The project is based on Dr. Brandy Dunn and David Rensin’s upcoming memoir “The Men On My Couch: True Stories Of Sex, Love and Psychotherapy.” It centers on a young female therapist with an exclusively male client list who discovers that having too much information about what makes men tick can be complicated when she steps outside of the office.
CBS is developing LIFE ISN’T EVERYTHING, a new comedy based on the Israeli sitcom of the same name. The creator of the original series, Daniel Lappin, will be involved in the writing of the U.S. version. Lappin will co-write the script for the studio with comedy veteran Mike Sikowitz. The series will follow a middle-aged, divorced couple, who cannot seem to stay out of each other’s lives despite being separated.
CBS has also picked up an UNTITLED KOHAN/HOLSTEIN PROJECT from “Weeds” creator Jenji Kohan and Showtime series writer David Holstein. The project, which Holstein will write and Kohan will supervise, hails from Lionsgate TV where Kohan is under an overall deal. It is described as “Sliding Doors” meets “Seinfeld.”
Dan Fogelman is in business with ABC, as he is developing a new comedy centered around aliens. Fogelman will write and executive produce. Chris Koch and Aaron Kaplan will also executive produce. The single-camera comedy centers on a family who move into a new condominium complex only to discover that they are the only residents from planet earth.
FX has renewed their breakout drama AMERICAN HORROR STORY for a 13 episode second season. The new series has seen its ratings rise every week since the show’s premiere just over a month ago.
