TV SALES AND PICK-UPS
HBO has picked up their new drama THE CORRECTIONS into production. Produced by Noah Baumbach and Scott Rudin, the series stars Chris Cooper and Dianne Wiest, and is based on Jonathan Franzen’s novel, which centers on a middle-aged couple and their three adult children as they trace their lives through the 20th century all the way up to “one last Christmas” at the turn of the new millenium. Baumbach and Franzen co-wrote the adaptation, with Baumbach set to direct the pilot.
MTV has picked up and UNTITLED PARRA-LOPEZ COMEDY PROJECT from executive producers Jennifer Lopez, Simon Fields and Benny Medina. The hour-long comedy is written by Grace Parra, which centers on a recent NYU graduate, who due to her grim job prospects, is forced to move back in with her Mexican family in Texas.
MTV has also picked up an UNTITLED PARSONS COMEDY PROJECT to be executive produced by Russ Krasnoff. Laura Parsons is set to pen the single-camera comedy that revolves around “mean girls” in the workplace.
