SALES & PICK-UPS
Despite it missing from the midseason schedule, COUGAR TOWN will more than likely return to ABC in March. Unfortunately, however, the series episode order has been cut to 15 from the original 22.
NBC has given freshman fairy tale procedural GRIMM a full-season order. The series stars David Giuntoli, Bitsie Tulloch, Silas Weir Mitchell, Sasha Roiz and Russell Hornsby. The networks has also partnered up with the Jim Henson Co. to develop THE NEW NABORS a comedy about a human family and the repercussions they encounter living next door to a family of puppets. John Hoffman and John Riggi will pen the script.
SYFY
The network has picked up GHOST GHIRLS, a project created by Jeremy Konner, Amanda Lund and Maria Blasucci and executive produced by Jack Black. Konner will direct the series, which is a comedic take on popular paranormal procedurals like “Medium” and “Ghost Whisperer.”
DEALS
Akiva Goldsman has signed a two-year exclusive overall deal with HBO. The first project from the deal is an UNTITLED DOC HOLIDAY PROJECT, a drama that will see feature writers Adam Cooper and Bill Collage write the script and executive produce with Goldsman, Kerry Foster. Hollywood veteran Ron Howard is attached to direct the pilot.
