FOX has moved quick to snatch up the supernatural cop drama MAGICAL LAW from writer/exec producer Terry Rossio and exec producer Gore Verbinski. Series takes place in a world where supernatural elements are commonplace, and we follow the police and attorneys who are in charge of dealing with them.
FX has picked up the workplace comedy AMBULANCE CHASERS from writer/exec producer Jason Mantzoukas. Series, which is also exec produced by Scot Armstrong and Ravi Nandan and will be directed by Adam Bernstein, is pitched as a “down and dirty” approach to the classic courtroom genre by moving away from the glitzy high-end law firms and focusing on street-mall attorneys featured in local TV commercials.
Sony Pictures Television has begun putting together the UNTITLED PIERCE BROSNAN PROJECT, with Pierce Brosnan set to exec produce alongside Jack Orman, Beau St. Clair and Keri Selig. Series is said to center on an international operative and problem solver for hire, who is brought in for high-drama situations like kidnappings and business espionage.
John Eisendrath has signed a heft 2-year/7-figure deal with Sony Pictures Television, where he will develop new material, and depending on what is in motion, join another series as a showrunner, or set up his own.
