ABC is continuing their reboot-a-rama, by picking up MONTE CRISTO from writer/exec producer Mike Kelley. Series, which is also exec produced by Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen, is described as a modern day re-imagening of Alexandre Dumas, pere’s The Count of Monte Cristo.
ABC is loving the idea of THE PACKAGED DEAL from writer/exec producer David Stern. Series, which will also be exec produced by John Strauss and Ed Decter, centers on the realization that when you marry someone, sometimes you marry the whole family.
CBS is ready for a nice fill of family dysfunction with the pick up of GO TIME! from writers/exec producers Jay Martel and Ian Roberts. Series centers on a family, whose lives are turned upside down when the dad’s brother, an ex-Marine, moves into the garage.
COMEDY CENTRAL has jumped come to the realization that you are NOT NORMAL with the help of writers/exec producers Jay Martel and Ian Roberts. Series, which Martel will also direct, follows a group of five friends who investigate paranormal activity in suburbia through their team – “Not Normal Investigations.”
NBC has decided to move forward on the pilot CONSULTING ADULTS from writer/exec producer Victoria Strouse. Series, which is also exec produced by Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope, centers on a team of corporate consultants who advise major corporations how to conduct their business, while having no idea how to conduct their own lives.
NBC is ready to show a little leg, with the pick up of the frisky new drama PLAYBOY from writer/exec producer Chad Hodge. Series, which is also exec produced by Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo, centers on a group of women working as Playboy bunnies in the New York club of the same name.
SHOWTIME is in final talks to put in a pilot order for corporate drama HOUSE OF LIES from writer/exec producer Matthew Carnahan. Series, which also has Jessika Borsiczky exec producing and Stephen Hopkins directing, is pitched as a sophisticated dark comedy about a thirtysomething top management consultant who is cutthroat and not afraid to play dirty.
USA has snagged another film writer with an eye on TV, handing out a pilot order for AWAKE to writer/exec producer Aaron Guzikowski. The series, which is also exec produced by Adam Kolbrenner and Robyn Meisinger, centers on a New York detective who is stricken with insomnia.
TV CANCELLATIONS
NBC has trimmed their order from 13 to 9 episodes for the new mid-season series LOVE BITES.
TV DEALS
ABC has handed out a 2-year/7-figure deal to Temple Hill Entertainment producers Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen. As part of the deal, the duo will develop and produce new material for the network.
