ABC is looking to TV to find it’s next hit, picking up the Americanized version of Canadian hit BEING ERICA from writer/exec producer Maggie Friedman. Series, which David Fortier, Ivan Schneeberg and Jana Sinyor also exec produce, centers on a woman who travels back in time to relive regrets from the past and manages to correct those wrongs in the present.
ABC is moving forward with already in development comic book adaptation AKA JESSICA JONES by creator and executive producer Brian Michael Bendis, by hiring writer/exec producer Melissa Rosenberg to write the pilot. Series, which also has Jeph Loeb, Joe Quesada, Alan Fin, eand Howard Klein exec producing, centers on the superhero “Jewel” who retires from hero-ing after a tragic incident leaves her with post-traumatic stress disorder, and after some time away, returns as a detective for hire on superhero cases.
NBC has picked up the new hourlong drama YOUNG TURKS from writers/exec producers Jonny Umanksy and Zach Hyatt. Series, which is also exec produced by Jeff Kwatinetz, Paul Frank, Rich Frank, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, centers on the personal and professional lives of a group of New Yorkers in their 20’s as they navigate the high-powered worlds of finance, politics and media.
NICKELODEON has given yet another new show a series pick-up, handing out episode orders to BUCKET AND SKINNER’S EPIC ADVENTURES from writers/exec producers Boyce Bugliari and Jamie McLaughlin. Series, which will also be exec produced by Jonathan Stark and Tom Lynch, centers on two best friend surfer teens who decide to run for student council, only to realize they’re competing against the most popular kid in school.

SyFy has unexpectedly, yet officially put another Stargate series to bed, canceling what was thought to be a network hit in STARGATE UNIVERSE.
