RENEWALS:
Showtime has renewed its Edie Falco-starring dramedy NURSE JACKIE for a fifth season. Clyde Phillips, formerly of “Dexter”, will be taking over as showrunner on the new season, which is set to begin production in late 2012. Phillips will be replacing co-creators Linda Wallem and Liz Brixius, whom are moving on to different projects.
ATTACHMENTS:
Wil Calhoun, an alum of the hit sitcom “Friends”, is set to join NBC’s second-season comedy series WHITNEY as an executive producer and showrunner. Calhoun will replace Betsy Thomas as she moves to another NBC series, “Guys With Kids”.
DEALS:
Gregg Mettler, alum of both “3rd Rock from the Sun” and “That 70’s Show”, has inked a two-year overall deal with with 20th Century Fox Television. In addition to developing and supervising new projects, Mettler will join the new ABC comedy series HOW TO LIVE WITH YOUR PARENTS FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE as a co-executive producer.
