Starz has ordered FORTITUDE to a 13-episode series. The project, written by Simon Donald, centers on the Arctic town of “Fortitude” which experiences a murder. Donald will exec produce with Colin Callender and Patrick Spence. Donald is repped by Curtis Brown Group.
A&E has ordered ten episodes for THOSE WHO KILL. The project stars ChloÃ« Sevigny and James D’Arcy as a detective and forensics expert hunting down serial killers. Glen Morgan (CAA) wrote the script and will exec produce with Brian Grazer, Francie Calfo, Peter Bose and Jonas Allen.
IFC has ordered three pilots – GARFUNKEL & OATES, INTERNATIONAL PLAN and TIMMS INDUSTRIAL PIPING.”Garfunkel & Oates” centers on a polarizing singing pair who always have each other, even if no one else supports them. “International Plan” follows two guys who form a close bond while traveling the world looking for love. “Timms Industrial Piping” revolves around a small Wisconsin town closely tied to its local piping plant. When the plant’s CEO goes missing in a plane crash, the town is thrown into disarray.
Syfy is going forward with an untitled Sci-Fi anthology from Jamie Foxx (CAA), which the actor will write, direct and produce. Although details of the project are being kept under wraps, it will be in the style of an anthology. Troy Miller, Jeff Stilson, Jaime King and Julie Yorn will exec produce.
Ryan Murphy’s project OPEN has been picked up by HBO with a pilot order. Written by Murphy and Lauren Gussis, the project is keeping specific details under wraps but will explore human sexuality. Murphy is repped by CAA.
The comic book “The Test”, written by Matt Hawkins and Joshua Hale Fialkov, will be adapted for the small screen by Syfy. The show will be titled NO PLACE and it centers on a wealthy gated community who wake up one morning to find that there is nothing beyond their gated walls. John Brancato and Michael Ferris will write the script. They are repped by CAA.
A&E has renewed BATES MOTEL for a second season. The freshman season of the show, which is ongoing, generated he biggest premiere viewership for a original drama in A&E’s history.
