Sam Worthington and Robin Wright will both join the ensemble cast of EVEREST which already includes Josh Brolin, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Jason Clarke. The film is based on the true story of three expeditions that are thrown off course when they are hit by ferocious blizzards on their way to the top of Mt. Everest.
Wright has been cast as Peach, the wife of Brolin’s character, a doctor on the expedition who fights the elements to keep the rest of the crew alive. Worthington will play Guy Cotter, a scaling expert from New Zealand.
Worthington is best known for his role as Jake Sully in “Avatar,” a role he is set to reprise in all three of the upcoming “Avatar” installments. Wright can be seen alongside on-screen husband Kevin Spacey in Netflix’s hit drama “House of Cards.”
