Uma Thurman is set to replace Mary-Louise Parker on THE SLAP. Parker recently dropped out of the NBC miniseries due to health issues. The series stars Peter Sarsgaard as a man who slaps another couple’s misbehaving child. The series centers on the fallout from the incident. Thurman will replace her as Anouk, a close friend of Sarsgaard’s character who works as the head writer on a TV show and is dating the younger leading man. The series is based on the novel by Australian author Christos Tsiolkas.
The project will mark Thurman’s first major foray into TV but she did have a guest stint on NBC’s musical series Smash. Of course she’s most well known for her roles in Pulp Fiction and the Kill Bill franchise. Most recently, Thurman appeared in Lars von Trier’s drama Nymphomaniac: Vol. I. Next up, Thurman will star in John Wells untitled comedy alongside Jamie Dornan, Bradley Cooper, and Lily James.
Thurman is repped by Untitled Entertainment.
