Star Trek actor John Cho is coming back to earth to star in a brand new series from USA Network. CONNOISSEUR is an hourlong drama from Gary Lundy, Hand of God creator Ben Watkins, and Cho, which explores the world of con artists.
Based on an original idea from Lundy, Cho will appear as Clay Park who pulls off his scheming cons by tricking the wealthiest people in the country to buy fake wine. But when his confidence trick forces him to cross paths with a crime syndicate, he gets involved with the FBI, and learns about a tragedy that hurt his family years ago in Korea.
Lundy will write, as well as executive produce with Watkins and Cho. Watkins’ Blue Monday Productions company will help develop the series and his partner Eli Dansky will serve as producer.
Cho has appeared in several TV series, but none that really took off or cast him as more than a recurring character, such as Fox’s Sleepy Hollow. He had starring roles in the ABC series Flash Forward and Selfie, but both were canceled after one season. Most recently, he made his third appearance as pilot Hikaru Sulu in Star Trek Beyond and can next be seen in the films Gemini and Literally, Right Before Aaron.
Lundy is an actor who has appeared in films like Donnie Darko and Burning Annie.
Other than creating Hand of God, Watkins was a writer and co-executive producer on Burn Notice.
