McG’s THE BABYSITTER is kicking into high gear, rounding up an impressive cast. Two days after The Flash star Robbie Amell joined the film, reports are now saying that Vine star Andrew Bachelor, AKA King Bach, is also coming aboard. The leap from phone screen to the big screen for Bachelor comes soon after it was announced that he was developing a show at Fox, which is being produced by Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele.
Directed by McG and scripted by hot scribe Brian Duffield, the film follows a young boy and his babysitter during a night where things go very awry, teaching the boy lessons about life, love and murder. Judah Lewis leads alongside of Samara Weaving in the titular role.
McG is producing via his Wonderland Sound & Vision banner, with production slated for later this Fall in LA. Wonderland’s president Mary Viola is also producing.
An immediate vine celebrity, Bachelor has become the most followed user on the app for his short comedic skits that he writes, directs, and produces himself. As part of his quick expansion into film and television, Bachelor has already appeared multiple times on both House of Lies and The Mindy Project, and currently stars on Adult Swim’s comedy series Black Jesus. He’ll next appear in Hulu’s Elizabeth Banks-executive produced digital series Resident Advisors.
On the feature side, he’s already appeared in Zac Efron’s DJ drama We Are Your Friends and wrapped on the prison drama Shot Caller, which stars Lake Bell. He also just completed a stint in Marlon Wayans comedic spoof 50 Shades of Black.
Bachelor is repped by UTA, Adam Kaller and Duncan Hedges, and Christina Bachelor.
