SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD has a few more additions as production gets underway in Sydney, with Virginia Madsen and Patrick Warburton joining the cast. Chris Peckover is directing from a script he wrote with Zack Kahn.
The film follows a babysitter who has to defend the 12-year-old boy she is taking care of when strangers break into the house – only to discover that this is far from a normal home invasion.
Olivia DeJonge stars as the babysitter with Levi Miller as her charge. Madsen and Warburton play the parents of the young boy. They join previously cast Ed Oxenbould, Dacre Montgomery, and Aleks Mikic.
The film is produced by Storm Vision Entertainment’s Brett Thornquest and Sidonie Abbene, and Best Medicine Productions’ Brion Hambel and Paul Jensen. Steven Matusko, Shane Abbess, and Lorenzo De Maio are executive producing. XYZ Films is handling North American rights with Versatile handling international. They will present the film at EFM.
Madsen most recently starred in the award-winning Joy opposite Jennifer Lawrence and Robert DeNiro and recently signed on to co-star in CBS series American Gothic. Warburton starred in last year’s Ted 2 and will next be featured as a voice in Animal Crackers.
