The Walking Dead actor Lennie James is in talks to join the UNTITLED BLADE RUNNER SEQUEL starring Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford. Sicario director Denis Villeneuve will direct from a script written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green based on Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.
The storyline is being kept under wraps, but the film will be a sequel to Ridley Scott’s 1982 sci-fi classic, set several decades after the original which featured Ford as a bounty hunter tracking down rogue androids.
Scott is executive producing with Thunderbird Films CEOs Tim Gamble and Frank Giustra. Alcon Entertainment’s Cynthia Sikes Yorkin will produce with Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove. Bud Yorkin will also receive a posthumous producer credit. Warner Bros. and Sony are handling distribution.
James recently wrapped on the adaptation of Frank Martinus Arlon’s Double Play, and wrote the screenplay for the crime drama Is Thicker Than Water.
James is repped by Independent Talent Group, UTA, and Lasher Group.
