“Walking Dead” Creator Robert Kirkman Set To Write “Transformers” Film


is among the new writers that have been brought on board to helm the direction of the universe. Back in March, it was announced that Oscar winning writer  was chosen by Paramount to organize a writers room with the team working on the Transformers franchise. Goldsman will oversee meetings with Michael Bay, Steven Spielberg and Lorenzo di Bonaventura, where future plans will be discussed.

The studio is reportedly looking for different directions for the series, and are interested in spin-off films that would expand the universe. Kirkman will write one of the undisclosed projects, with Art Marcum & Matt Holloway, Zak Penn and Jeff Pinkner are among the writers reveled to be crafting new installments. Given the success of the expanded Marvel universe, the studio is looking to take the Hasbro property in the same direction.

Kirkman is known for his comic book creations The Walking DeadThe Astounding Wolf-ManOutcast and Invincible. He serves as a writer and executive producer on The Walking Dead AMC series.
