Marvel is rounding out the cast of ANT-MAN AND THE WASP, tapping Walton Goggins for an undisclosed role in the sequel, the Tracking Board has confirmed. Peyton Reed returns to direct the follow-up to the 2015 feature.
Plot details for the sequel have been kept under wraps, as is typical for a Marvel film, but there is a good chance we may find out more about the film and who Goggins is playing at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend. He joins returning cast members Paul Rudd, Evangline Lilly, Michael Douglas, and Michael Peña, as well as new cast member, Randall Park, who joined earlier in the month, as first reported by the Tracking Board.
The film is set for a July 6, 2018 release, the third of three Marvel movies slated for next year, following Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War. Deadline first reported the news of this casting.
This is the latest franchise Goggins has joined, following Maze Runner: The Death Cure and Tomb Raider (technically just a solo reboot, but with a good chance of becoming a franchise). He also currently stars in the HBO series Vice Principals and History series Six. He’s repped by ICM and Darris Hatch Management.
