Warner Bros. and 1821 Media are teaming up on an untitled “Treasure Hunt” feature based on an idea from 1821’s Terry Dougas. Grant Pierce Myers has signed on to write the the script.
The film follows a group of treasure seekers who steal artifacts from museums around the world and through the criminal underworld set out in pursuit of the greatest treasure of all time.
Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee will produce alongside 1821. Jon Berg and Jon Gouda will oversee for Warner Bros. The deal was negotiated by Loeb & Loeb’s Craig Emmanuel.
Myers previously penned the adaptation of YA novel The Maze Runner and Colleen Oakes’s novel Queen of Hearts which follows the teen years of the infamous villain from the Louis Carroll books.
He is repped by Paradigm and Gotham Group.
