WEEKEND BOX OFFICE (6.23.14) — Sequels Rule the Weekend
0Sequels took the top three spots this weekend with “Think Like a Man Too,” “22 Jump Street,” and “How to Train Your Dragon 2.” In the top spot, “Think Like a Man Too” knocked “Jump Street” and “Dragon” down two second and third in their second weekends.
“Jersey Boys” had a disappointing opening with only $13.5 million in its first weekend. Disney’s “Maleficent” rounded out the top 5, making an impressive $13.1 million in its fourth week in theaters, bringing it’s total box office haul to just under $186 million.
Seems like the younger audiences were out in full force this weekend while the older “Jersey Boys” crowd opted to stay home. Check back with us next week to see how “Transformers: Age of Extinction” will measure up next weekend.
