Will Poulter has joined the cast of the upcoming remake of Stephen King’s IT as Pennywise the Clown. True Detective director Cary Fukunaga will helm that film, which he has co-written with Chase Palmer. Based on the Stephen King book, the story follows a group of adults that re-unite to face the horror that plagued their lives as children, and team up to uncover what happened when they were young. The film will be split into two halves. This marks the second feature take on King’s novel, after the 1990 television film that starred Tim Curry as Pennywise. Fukunaga has revealed that he is making a darker version that is faithful to the novel.
Known for his role in the film We’re The Millers, Poulter was recently seen in The Maze Runner, and will star alongside of Leonardo DiCaprio in The Revenant.
Poulter is repped by Hamilton Hodell.
