Ground breaking horror director Wes Craven has signed a first look deal with Universal Cable Productions. The deal will launch new scripted programming that will air on NBC Universal affiliated networks. Two projects have currently been announced under the deal. Syfy will be involved with Craven’s new series We Are All Completely Fine and The People Under The Stairs. We Are All Completely Fine follows a support group of people that survived five different horror movie scenarios. They must work together to survive an evil psychologist that unleashes their greatest fears on them. People Under The Stairs is based on Craven’s 1991 horror film of the same title that follows a missing persons case that unveils the terrifying past of a haunted estate.
In regards to their deal with Craven, UCP’s Executive Vice President of Development Dawn Olmstead remarked,
Wes is an icon whose films have captivated audiences for decades. We’re thrilled to be working with him, and to be able to bring his enormous talent and unique blend of horror, humor and intelligence to television.”
Known for creating the Nightmare On Elm Street and Scream film series, Craven has paved the way for modern horror with a number of films including the original Last House On The Left and The Hills Have Eyes.
Craven is repped by WME, Industry Entertainment and Ziffren Brittenham.
